The lovely and talented Zooey Deschanel (“[500] Days of Summer”) guest stars on a new episode of big sister Emily’s forensics drama “Bones,” playing the title character’s long-lost cousin in the first on-screen pairing of the actress siblings. (Fox, 8 p.m.)

Neil Patrick Harris and Jennifer Love Hewitt lend their voices to the new animated special “Yes, Virginia” (below), which retells the tale of a newspaper editor’s response to a little girl’s letter seeking confirmation of the existence of jolly old St. Nick. (CBS, 8 p.m.)
