I really liked Randy Lewis’ Brad Paisley article (“Proud of His Country,” June 28), especially the end of the article where he talks about what will matter in the future when he reflects with his family:

“Truthfully, in the end, will [the awards] be what matters? Not at all . . . I’ll be somebody who’ll be telling my kids and grandkids, ‘No, seriously, people used to go out and see me play. And they paid.’ . . . I can hear myself saying that.”

I admire how he appreciates the value of his talent, his hard work and his family. I keep respecting him more and more as an artist and a guy.
