Iran vice president: In Monday’s Section A article about Iran’s moderate vice president being pressured to resign, the source of a quote was misidentified as President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s spiritual advisor, Ayatollah Mohammad Mesbah Yazdi. In fact, it was another Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi -- a hard-line cleric and Ahmadinejad ally -- who rebuked the idea that the Islamic Republic ultimately answered to its own people and who said in part: “The Islamic Republic takes its legitimacy from God and its acceptability from people.”
