A Los Angeles police officer suffered minor injuries late Saturday when a vehicle slammed into his patrol car during a traffic stop.
The officer, whose identity has not been released, made the stop about 11:20 p.m. at 79th Street and Normandie Avenue, said Officer Sam Park. The officer was sitting in his patrol car with the door open when a car swerved through lanes, clipped two moving cars and crashed into the officer’s vehicle, Park said.
The driver ran off. Officers found Omar Jaques, 22, hiding in a tree about 3 a.m. Sunday, Park said.
Jaques was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run.
