No. 4 Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (7-1, 0-0) vs. No. 15 Encino Crespi (7-2, 2-0) at Birmingham High. Tonight at 7.
Why it matters: These two San Fernando Valley rivals are among the top baseball programs in Southern Section Division II. To win this Mission League game, Crespi will need a strong pitching performance from junior Ryon Healy (3-0). The Celts’ top hitter has been third baseman Zack Wiley, who’s 11 for 21. Notre Dame’s top hitter has been infielder Casey Ryan, who is 16 for 33. In another top game, Woodland Hills El Camino Real (6-2) plays at defending City Section champion Chatsworth (7-1) in a West Valley League opener at 3 p.m.
