“From the Barrio to the ‘Burbs: Crossing Borders and Finding Home in the New Los Angeles” Aloud at Central Library presents two minds that have shaped and documented our metropolis in conversation. Jesse Katz, a former Los Angeles Times reporter and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, will discuss his new memoir, “The Opposite Field.” Father Gregory J. PaleyFest: “Breaking Bad” Bryan Cranston, who plays the chemistry teacher turned drug dealer at the center of AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” will join cast mates and executive producers Vince Gilligan and Mark Johnson for this panel discussion of the acclaimed TV show. Little Boots Victoria Hesketh, better known as her electro-pop alter ego, Little Boots, has quickly gone from YouTube favorite to “it girl” extraordinaire. Her catchy, synth-heavy sound, as heard on singles like “Remedy” and “Stuck on Repeat,” should have the crowd moving. Dragonette, Class Actress and DJ Paul V. will open.
