China Eastern Air, which commands the country’s second-largest commercial jet fleet, said it would buy six of Boeing Co.’s 737-700 airliners for about $240 million to meet booming travel demand.
The first aircraft would be delivered in January 2006 and the last in August of that year.
Boeing has predicted that China will need 2,300 aircraft over the next two decades as increasingly well-off Chinese take to the air.
