Gerard Way, who was the lead singer-songwriter for My Chemical Romance, and his wife, Lyn-Z, bass player for Mindless Self Indulgence, have put their Tarzana home on the market at $1.899 million.
The Tudor-style home, built in 1980, features leaded glass windows, vaulted beamed ceilings and half-timbered exteriors. The 4,803 square feet of interior space includes a formal entry, an office, five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The more-than-half-an-acre lot has a swimming pool with a spa and an outdoor barbecue area.
Way, 36, co-founded the alt rock band My Chemical Romance in 2001. It disbanded earlier this year. He also is a comic book writer.
His brother, Mike Way, bassist for My Chemical Romance, also put his Tarzana home up for sale at $1.489 million. The 3,915-square-foot house, built in 1956, features high ceilings, a wet bar, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. It too has a swimming pool and barbecue area, as well as an orchard and a fire pit.
Gwen Banta of Sotheby’s International Realty has both listings.
