Hot Property: Donald Trump saves Ed McMahon from foreclosure
Ed McMahon, show in 2007, defaulted on $4.8 million in mortgage loans and faced foreclosure on his Beverly Hills home -- until Donald Trump came to his rescue. The New York developer has entered into negotiations to buy the house for an undisclosed sum, with the understanding that McMahon could continue living there. (Matt Sayles / Associated Press)
Donald Trump, shown in June, told the L.A. Times on Thursday that he was negotiating to buy
Donald Trump’s proposed rescue of Ed McMahon’s home from foreclosure is not Trump’s biggest real estate deal this summer -- not even close. In July he announced he was selling his Palm Beach, Fla., mansion to a Russian billionaire for $100 million. Russian fertilizer billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev purchased the roughly 60,000-square-foot oceanfront home, shown in 2006; Trump renovated the property after buying it for about $41 million in 2004.
