Iggy Azalea took a tumble off the stage during an MTV Video Music Awards benefit concert at the Avalon in Los Angeles on Friday night.
In the middle of rapping her summer-hit “Fancy” with Charli XCX, she backed up without looking behind her and fell off the stage.
Cameras were there to capture the jaw-dropping moment. Within seconds, the Aussie newcomer picked herself up with help from some security guards. The 24-year-old was met with applause from the audience as she barely missed a beat.
People magazine reported she also expressed her gratitude to the crowd, saying she felt “very blessed” she didn’t break her legs.
Now tell me, who that, who that? It’s I-G-G-Y.
That same night, Azalea posted a video of the incident on her Instagram account, “The New Classic” -- named after her debut studio album. The clip came with the caption, “Sorry but it would be a crime not to share this with you all, I know I laughed. #StillFinishedtheSongTho #KeptOnRapping #TheShowMustGoOn.”
Viewers and fans will be seeing lots of Azalea at Sunday’s VMAs. She’s right behind Beyonce with nominations for seven Moonmen trophies, including one for video of the year (“Fancy”). The rapper is also slated to perform her single “Black Widow” with British singer Rita Ora.
