HBO is aiding the insatiable “Game of Thrones” postmortem appetite, continuing to provide secrets and insight with its “Game Revealed” series.
Monday’s installment, which followed Sunday’s highly anticipated Season 8 premiere, highlighted several behind-the-scenes tidbits and showed “Star Wars” creator George Lucas’ secret set visit.
“When we found out that George Lucas wanted to visit, we thought maybe it was a practical joke. And then we were really excited and also nervous because it’s George Lucas,” co-creator and showrunner David Benioff said.
He added: “The first time I could remember telling stories was me as a little kid, mashing together these Stormtrooper dolls. For so many of us, [Lucas] is the one who started this obsession with this big epic storytelling.”

The clip showed Lucas with the cast and crew while filming the “Winterfell” episode’s far-reaching homecoming parade. He chats up actors Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington and watches video with veteran director David Nutter.
“George would be sitting at my director’s chair, that was so cool for me,” Nutter added.

The “Game Revealed” clip also confirmed cameos by comedians Martin Starr (“Silicon Valley”) and Rob McElhenney (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) and showed how a throwaway line written in the script led to screenwriter Dave Hill acting the part (and getting killed off).
Plus, there’s an Iron Bank’s worth of recaps on all the episode’s major character reunions, which is what we could likely expect from HBO’s forthcoming “Game of Thrones: The Last Watch,” a two-hour documentary about the epic fantasy’s eighth season, which will premiere one week after the series finale.
