James Gandolfini dies: ‘The Sopranos’ tops Amazon’s bestsellers list

In the wake of James Gandolfini’s death, fans of his work pulled out their credit cards to have his iconic character, Tony Soprano, accessible whenever they like.
As of 10:30 a.m. (Pacific), “The Sopranos: The Complete Series” -- at a whopping $124.99 a pop if you buy it new -- currently sits atop Amazon.com’s DVD bestsellers list.

Elsewhere on the list, “The Sopranos: The Complete First Season” ranked No. 14. And “The Sopranos: Season 6, Part 2” came in at No. 20. And so it went, as various seasons of the groundbreaking HBO series popped up throughout the top 100.
HBO, meanwhile, spotlighted the series on its streaming website HBOGo. The network said it will not be providing data on how many streams episodes have received.
