The other shoes fall

Forget the Blagojevich bloggers, the multibillion-dollar Madoff mess and Sweet Sen. Caroline. Last week will forever be remembered for the instant-classic holiday missile-toes aimed at a lame-ducking Dubya by Iraqi journalist Muntather Zaidi. It was a gift-wrapped stocking stuffer for cartoonists. Clay Bennett compiled footnotes for history (alas, no flip-flops), and I portrayed the harsh realities of “boots on the ground.” But Mike Lester pummeled his peers, calling us heels for our unseemly shoe fetish. C’mon, Mike ... we won’t have President Bush to kick around much longer.
