Man killed crossing 60 Freeway from disabled car is identified

Authorities have identified a 30-year-old Montebello man who was struck by vehicles twice as he attempted to cross the 60 Freeway to seek help after his car had broken down.
Roger K. Reyna was a passenger in a car his mother was driving east on the 60 Freeway late Friday. The car became disabled and pulled off to the right shoulder, just east of Crossroads Parkway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reyna exited the car to seek assistance, and for “an unknown reason” crossed all eastbound lanes of the freeway, the CHP said. He was hit by a Chevrolet Avalanche as he attempted to cross westbound lanes of the freeway and then was hit again as he was lying in the traffic lane, according to the CHP.
Reyna sustained fatal injuries to his chest and head, according to authorities. No further information was made available.
