Brush fire in La Habra and Fullerton burns 80 acres; evacuations lifted

A fast-moving brush fire broke out in Orange County on Tuesday, burning near homes in La Habra and Fullerton, authorities said.
UPDATE: Orange County brush fire is fully contained
The fire was first reported about 4 p.m. near Rosecrans Avenue and Beach Boulevard, said Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority.
In La Habra, voluntary evacuation orders were issued for residents of about 40 homes but the evacuation order was lifted shortly before 8 p.m.
The fire had scorched 80 acres and was about 70% contained about 7 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which was assisting local fire crews.
La Habra Mayor Pro Tem James Gomez told KTLA-TV Channel 5 that the fire is burning in dense brush flanked by homes and trails.
“It’s absolutely bone dry right now,” he said.
