Santa Ana police believe there may be more victims in the case of a barber accused of molesting a teenage boy who came in for a haircut.
Ruben Olguin, the barber, has been licensed in the state since 1999 and worked at the Salon De Belleza Nuevo Guadalajara until his arrest last week.
Police said Olguin, 51, took one of his regular customers, a 14-year-old boy, to the back to wash his hair and then molested him. The boy’s mother was in the front of the salon, authorities said.
“The victim and his mother had been to the same barber several times and trusted him,” police said in a statement.
Police are concerned that there may be other victims because Olguin’s profession put him in regular contact with children. Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to call Det. Cpl. Javier Aceves at (714) 245-8542.
Olguin is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 4.
