A reputed gang member suspected of fatally shooting three men early Friday morning in a San Bernardino parking lot has been arrested, police said.
Details of the arrest were not immediately available.
San Bernardino police responded to a report of a shooting about 4:17 a.m. in a parking lot in the 1900 block of South Diners Court, according to a statement from the San Bernardino Police Department.
Arriving officers found three men with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, identified by police as Kavin Johnson, 26, of Colton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other victims, identified as San Bernardino residents David Lawler, 21, and Terry Freeman, 20, were taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where they were later died.
Police said the victims were standing in the parking lot when they were approached by the gunman.
At one point, the gunman and the victims, including one who is a gang member, began to “exchange their gang affiliation.”
The assailant then pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds at the victims before getting into a red or burgundy four-door vehicle and fleeing the scene, police said.
The shooting appeared to be gang-related, but a motive has not been established, police said.
