Wiz Khalifa concert in Chula Vista cancelled after fatal shooting

A concert by Wiz Khalifa that was scheduled Saturday night at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Visa has been cancelled following a fatal shooting at the rapper’s concert in Silicon Valley, officials said.
The concert will not be rescheduled and “ticket holders should return to the point of purchase for a refund,” according to a news release from the Chula Vista Police Department. The announcement was sent out to police from entertainment company Live Nation.
“Fans who purchased through LiveNation.com or Ticketmaster.com will be automatically refunded and do not need to take any further action,” according to the news release. “If you purchased tickets at the venue box office, you may return tickets for a full refund starting Monday 8/25 from 10am-2pm. Refunds will be issued via the original method of payment.”
A 38-year-old man was fatally shot backstage at a Wiz Khalifa concert in Silicon Valley on Friday nighte.
Officers were called to the Shoreline Amphitheatre about 11 p.m. after getting multiple calls about shots being fired backstage at the concert, said Shino Tanaka, a spokeswoman for the Mountain View Police Department.
Police are searching for an African American man believed to be in his 20s. They are asking concertgoers for photos or videos that may provide clues. The suspect was described as 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 with short hair who may have been wearing black clothing and a red baseball cap.
Meanwhile, the identity of the victim, who was shot multiple times, has not been released.
It is unclear how the gunman got into the venue. Fans attending the concert had to be screened by security. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (650) 903-6395.
