“X-Factor” contestant Simone Battle was found dead in her West Hollywood home, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office confirmed Saturday.
The 25-year-old singer was discovered in her home on Friday morning, said Lt. David Smith of the coroner’s office. Officials were called to the scene about 10 a.m.
A cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy, but several media outlets reported Saturday that Battle may have committed suicide.
Battle competed in the first season of the U.S. version of “X-Factor” in 2011. She made it to the Top 17, but was eliminated from the girls’ category during the first week. She went on to join a girl group called “GRL.”
The group released a song called “Wild Wild Love” with Pitbull earlier this summer.
