Jerry Brown keeps details about a fourth term close to the vest

Gov. Jerry Brown hasn’t talked in much detail about what he might do in a historic fourth term, which he is widely expected to win by a comfortable margin over little-known Republican challenger Neel Kashkari.
But in a recent conversation with Los Angeles Times reporters Seema Mehta and Michael Finnegan, he said he would follow through on the transfer of more control over schools and criminal justice from Sacramento to local jurisdictions.
He also said he might use his considerable campaign funds -- he raised more than $24 million in his reelection account -- to promote ballot initiatives.
He wouldn’t say what those might be, just that “having a credible war chest will overcome whatever infirmities lame-duck governors might ordinarily suffer from.”
And what might come after his final term in Sacramento? Another run for Oakland mayor, maybe? Does Brown have any regrets?
