Letters: Who’s served by L.A.’s leaders?

Re “Tower site may lie on fault,” Sept. 25
The instant that the members of the Los Angeles City Council realize they have approved another immense building project on an active earthquake fault — this time in Century City — and don’t instantly take action to stop it is the very instant when they abandon all care for residents to serve business interests instead.
They have already OKd the colossal Millennium Hollywood project — in the very stretch of old Hollywood where freeway construction in 1947 decimated historic neighborhoods and destroyed our great Red Car line — knowing this is a sure recipe for profound disaster. The fault lines are common knowledge.
Our elected officials should protect the people rather than sell out our safety to the highest bidders. This is an obscenity.
