The Huntington Beach High School girls’ basketball team defeated Marina 65-21 on Monday in a Sunset Conference crossover game at home.
Makenna Tayenaka had a game-high 14 points for Huntington Beach (7-8). Audrey Nguyen added 12 points, while Akemi Tanga and Ashley Dean each had 10 points.
The Oilers made 12 three-pointers in the game.
Kylie Fung led the Vikings with nine points. Marina dropped to 5-12 overall.

Huntington Beach 3, Long Beach Poly 1: The host Oilers improved to 9-3-4 overall with Monday’s nonleague win.
Huntington Beach extended its unbeaten streak to four matches.
