Bears off to ominous 2-0 start in exhibition season

Success during the NFL exhibition season doesn’t mean a thing. Everybody knows that.

But it can’t hurt to win a couple games, can it?

Well, yes, it actually might be a very bad sign for the Bears after they improved to 2-0 with a 23-11 victory Saturday against the Colts.

Of the eight teams who started 2-0 during the 2014 exhibition season, only two made the playoffs. That’s 25 percent, less than the 38 percent of all teams that make the postseason.

The other six teams finished under .500, including some of the worst in the league. Three teams finished last in their divisions.
