The L.A. Times’ high school baseball all-star team:
P: Kevin Gowdy, Santa Barbara, senior — The UCLA signee went 5-1 with a 1.10 ERA, walking just six batters while striking out 104 in 63 2/3 innings.
P: Collin Quinn, JSerra, senior — The Washington State commit went 12-1 with an 0.82 ERA throwing with a sidearm delivery. He had a streak of four consecutive shutouts.
UT: Sean Reynolds, Redondo, senior — The 6-foot-8 Rice signee led Redondo to a second consecutive Division 3 championship, going 11-0 with a 1.08 ERA and hitting nine home runs with 34 RBIs.
C: Nick Kahle, Chaminade, senior — The Washington signee was the Mission League player of the year after hitting .512 with seven home runs and 33 RBIs.
INF: Royce Lewis, JSerra, junior — The two-time Trinity League MVP batted .429 with 42 hits.
INF: Zane Chittenden, Buena, senior — He batted .474 with 37 hits, 26 RBIs and nine home runs. He went three for three in a game against Kevin Gowdy.
INF: Hunter Greene, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, junior — He batted .419 with 39 hits, including four home runs.
OF: Blake Rutherford, Chaminade, senior — The No. 18 pick of the MLB draft by the New York Yankees had a .577 average, including 45 hits.
OF: Jake Suddleson, Harvard-Westlake, senior — The Harvard signee batted .422 with 12 home runs and 36 RBIs for a Division 1 finalist.
OF: Dominic Fletcher, Cypress, senior — The Arkansas signee was the Empire League MVP after batting .365 with 38 hits and 27 RBIs.
OF: Josh Stephen, Mater Dei, senior — The USC signee hit .424 with 42 hits, including 13 doubles and three home runs.
