Baseball: Chaminade’s Blake Rutherford receives MVP honors

The Mission League is loaded with baseball talent, and one of those top young players is sophomore outfielder Blake Rutherford, a UCLA commit.
During a holiday Perfect Game 16U tournament this past week in Georgia, Rutherford was named MVP. He went eight for 12 with three home runs.
He might want to save some of those home runs for the spring, since Chaminade is in the same league with Loyola, Harvard-Westlake and Alemany, three teams that could be ranked in the top 10 in preseason rankings.
