Boys’ basketball: Crenshaw holds off Fremont in Coliseum League opener

Crenshaw opened a 23-point lead in the third quarter against rival Fremont, saw its lead cut to three, then held on for an 89-81 win in a Coliseum League opener on Monday.
Chris Kendricks scored 27 points for Crenshaw. Marquis McKinzy had 30 points for Fremont.
Dorsey defeated Manual Arts, 79-61. Wayne Curry scored 18 points.
Rancho Dominguez defeated Los Angeles, 50-26, with Khyri Rice scoring 21 points.
In a Westminster tournament opener, unbeaten Price defeated Magnolia, 94-23.
In a nonleague game, Hart defeated Eastside, 80-61. Myles Franklin scored 36 points.
In the North Orange County championship, La Mirada defeated El Modena, 66-49. Kendall Lauderdale had 19 points and 15 rebounds.
Vince Klein scored 14 points in Newbury Park’s 46-42 win over Saugus. Agoura defeated Royal, 65-40.
