Boys’ basketball: Former Long Beach Jordan Coach Ron Massey dies

Ron Massey, a teacher, basketball coach and athletic director at Long Beach Jordan for 28 years until his retirement in 2010, died on Tuesday. He was 65.
His teams won three Southern Section championships. This season, the school renamed its basketball court “Ron Massey Court.”
He won 503 games in his career.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, and three sons.
