Cross country: Marshall’s Hector Garcia wins at Bell-Jeff Invitational

Hector Garcia of L.A. Marshall finished first in the seeded race of the Bell-Jeff Invitational on Saturday, edging Loyola’s Charlie Sherman. Both had a time of 15:09.
Loyola won the team title.
Erica Schroeder of San Marcos ran 18:02 to top girls in the varsity red division.
