Football: Alemany players ride a bull, look to develop some swagger
It’s a fun night in Mission Hills

Alemany players were riding a mechanical bull on Saturday night during a meet the players barbecue on the football field. There were cheerleaders, lots of food and the swagger stand was selling hats, T-shirts, sweatshirts, eye patches, decals and bracelets. Yes, football season has arrived.
The Warriors have made it to the Pac-5 semifinals twice in the last four years, and they’re looking for some breakthrough victories this season.
There’s certainly lots of talent, including USC-bound receiver Desean Holmes and super fast running back Dominic Davis.
Coach Dean Herrington believes an improved defense will be important for a Warriors team that faces stiff competition in a tougher Mission League.
Alemany opens its season on Friday against Los Osos. If all players made it through Saturday night’s bull riding session without any injuries, then everything should be fine.
