Football: Bishop Amat presents challenges for No. 3 Alemany

The weekly grind of the Mission League continues on Friday, and even though Alemany (5-0, 1-0) has emerged as the league title favorite, that can quickly change if the Warriors aren’t able to defeat a dangerous Bishop Amat (3-3, 1-1) team on Friday night.
“They run a ton of different formations on offense, and they always play hard,” Alemany Coach Dean Herrington said.
Bishop Amat has two heavily recruited juniors in Tyler Vaughns and Trevon Sidney, both of whom play receiver and defensive back.
And the Lancers unveiled another top young player last week in junior running back Torreahno Sweet, who helped Bishop Amat defeat Gardena Serra.
