Football: Former Arcadia Coach Dick Salter has died

Dick Salter, who was the football coach at Arcadia High from 1970-1989, died on Friday at his home in West Covina. He was 87.
Salter has two sons, Tim and Tom, who became successful football coaches. Tom coached at Bishop Amat and Culver City. Tim is the longtime coach at Upland.
Among Salter’s many former players were the Matthews brothers, Bruce and Clay, who became NFL standouts.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
