Everybody at Dorsey High knew how fast Reginald Bell was during his playing days at quarterback. After all, he was the City Section champion in the 110 hurdles.
On Saturday, the redshirt freshman at Eastern Michigan set a school record for quarterbacks, rushing for 202 yards in 17 carries, including four touchdowns, in a 37-27 win over Buffalo.
He had touchdown runs of 71 and 72 yards. He also completed eight of 13 passes for 144 yards and one touchdown. He did it all coming off the bench.
It was quite a day for the Bell family. Brother Renard had a touchdown in Cathedral’s 58-20 win over Salesian.
