Former Fremont Coach John Washington has been hired as the football coach at L.A. University.
In more coaching news, Joe Silvey has resigned after one season at Trabuco Hills.
There will be more than 80 coaching changes in Southern California, including the San Diego area, this off season.
Cantwell-Sacred Heart named former Duarte Coach Travis Brown its new coach.
There’s some 50 coaching openings still to be filled. The top job remaining is probably Vista Murrieta, which closes its application process on Feb. 1.
Here’s the link for Vista Murrieta.
Also, South Torrance is looking for a new coach after Josh Waybright, the head coach for 13 years, was let go, according to the Daily Breeze.
He told the Daily Breeze that the main reason he was let go was use of smokeless tobacco.
