Football: Narbonne and Crenshaw, dominant teams in City Section, meet on Friday
- Share via
The only surprise about Crenshaw and Narbonne playing on Friday night in the City Section Division I football playoffs is that it isn’t in the championship game.
Since 2009, either Narbonne or Crenshaw has won the Division I title. These two schools have been the dominant programs in City Section football.
Crenshaw won in 2009, 2010 and 2013. Narbone won win 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015.
Narbonne is 11-0 and a heavy favorite in Friday’s quarterfinal game at Narbonne. But the Gauchos have great respect for the Cougars and Coach Robert Garrett.
They also know they must contain quarterback Daiyan Henley, who’s coming off the best individual performance of his senior season in a win over Venice.
