Football: Oaks Christian loses linebacker Trevor Howard

Oaks Christian (0-2) has lost standout linebacker Trevor Howard for the rest of the season after he suffered a torn ACL in his knee on Saturday against Cathedral Catholic at Oceanside.

Freshman quarterback Matt Corral is expected to make his varsity debut on Friday against Venice coming off the bench. He had a back injury that limited him in practice. As he gains experience, his playing time should increase.

Oaks Christian is still waiting to see if running back Gil’Scott Jackson receives clearance to play. The school is trying to confirm that he has made an official change of residence before declaring him eligible after transferring from Scripps Ranch in San Diego.
