Torres served for more than 30 years as an educational leader in the Whittier Union district. He died in 2010.
The $17.5 million facility has a synthetic field, a nine-lane synthetic track, scoreboard, press box, locker and weight rooms. It will be shared by Pioneer and Santa Fe.
It was funded through a $75 million facilities bond passed by local voters.
