QB Max Gilliam, CB Kevin Howell lead Lancers

Thousand Oaks fans can’t wait until the fall football season begins, because the Lancers have a dynamic duo to root for in quarterback Max Gilliam and receiver-defensive back Kevin Howell.
The two were towering figures on Saturday in leading the Lancers to the championship of the Conejo Valley seven on seven passing tournament. Thousand Oaks defeated Newbury Park in the final.
Gilliam, committed to California, has a strong arm, good instincts and didn’t even get to use his running skills (he runs 40 yards in 4.6 seconds).
Howell was catching touchdown passes and doing his best to disrupt receivers while playing cornerback. He has toughness, speed and great timing.
Coach Mike Leibin is certainly going to find lots of situations to take advantage of Gilliam and Howell in the fall.
