Football: Three more receiving touchdowns for Matt Byer

The state record for most receiving touchdowns in a season is 33, and Matt Byer of Oak Park could make a real run at the record in the playoffs.
He had three more receiving touchdowns on Friday night, including the go-ahead TD with 1:20 left, to help Oak Park (9-1) hold off Carpinteria, 42-35, to win the Tri-Valley League championship.
Byer has 25 receiving touchdowns on the season. His TD receptions were from 46, 32 and 51 yards. He also ran 22 yards for a touchdown.
Oak Park will be the No. 1 seed in the Northwest Division.
