Orange Lutheran has become a team to watch in Southern Section boys’ water polo after handing Santa Ana Mater Dei its first Trinity League defeat since 2006 with a 13-11 overtime victory over the Monarchs on Wednesday.
The Lancers improved to 13-1 overall and 2-0 in league. Matt Kacura scored five goals and Ash Molthen had three goals.
Orange Lutheran has the rare opportunity to pull off two historic wins in the same week. The Lancers are scheduled to face No. 1-ranked Harvard-Westlake on Saturday at Harvard-Westlake.
