Will any work get done today at local high schools with NCAA games going on?

There’s a school policy at Loyola High that students at the all-boys school can’t use their cellphones inside buildings.

But even Principal Frank Kozakowski knows starting with today’s NCAA basketball tournament games and the use of mobile devices to watch games, a little leniency may be needed.

“The official policy is no,” he said Thursday morning.

But he remembers the days when he was using a transistor radio to listen to World Series games when he was going to school.

So Loyola is ready for the NCAA tournament.

“There’s TVs on all over the place,” he said.

Other high schools around the Southland could be experiencing similar conflicts trying to teach lessons while students take a peek at NCAA games.
