Sylmar holds a 7-6 edge over rival San Fernando heading into the second quarter.
Shontee Smith scored on a four-yard run to give Sylmar a 7-0 lead. Cristian Solano answered with a three-yard quarterback keeper for San Fernando but the extra point was blocked.
