New England quarterback Tom Brady limped off the field with some help Sunday after getting hit in the left leg while attempting a pass. Indianapolis Colts running back Joseph Addai is expected to play next week after sustaining a head injury in Sunday’s 29-13 loss to the Chicago Bears. Carolina Panthers reserve quarterback Matt Moore, who went to Newhall Hart High, UCLA and Oregon State, didn’t even make it to the season opener on Sunday. After injuring his left leg in the final preseason game, he was cleared to practice on Wednesday and when he attempted to push off on his leg he felt something pop. Another major preseason injury felled New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora on Aug. 23 in an exhibition game against the New York Jets. Umenyiora tore the lateral meniscus in his left knee during the second quarter and will have surgery to repair the damage.
