Angels place Robert Coello on DL; Dane De La Rosa recalled

BALTIMORE — The Angels on Tuesday placed reliever Robert Coello on the 15-day disabled list because of shoulder inflammation and recalled right-hander Dane De La Rosa from triple-A Salt Lake.
Coello, featuring a 94-mph fastball and a forkball that looks more like a knuckleball, had been a pleasant surprise for the Angels, going 2-1 with a 0. 68 earned run average in his first 11 games to help bolster an injury plagued bullpen.
But in his last two outings, against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday and the Boston Red Sox on Sunday, Coello was rocked for six earned runs and five hits, walking five and striking out only two, in 1 1/3 innings.
De La Rosa, acquired from Tampa Bay in the final week of spring training, was called up in early April and went 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA in 27 appearances before being sent to Salt Lake on Wednesday.
