Tiger Woods needs strong round to make cut in comeback tournament

With the projected cut line at the Quicken Loans National hovering around 2-over, Tiger Woods has his work cut out for him in Friday’s second round.
In his first tournament since undergoing back surgery last spring, an admittedly rusty Woods finished the first round at 3-over but did not seem overly concerned with the leaderboard.
“It’s nice to get back out here playing again,” he said.
As for his back, the initial reports were equally positive.
“No twinges, no nothing,” he said. “It felt fantastic.”
Woods recorded a par on his first hole Friday. A pair of Australians -- Oliver Goss and Marc Leishman -- held the early clubhouse lead at 6-under.
