USC football: Lane Kiffin felt Cody Kessler’s confidence building

USC Coach Lane Kiffin could sense Cody Kessler’s confidence building.
In his first game as USC’s designated starting quarterback, Kessler completed 15 of 17 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns in the Trojans’ 35-7 victory over Boston College.
As Kessler found his rhythm in the first half, Kiffin said he felt a very different player than the one who played with anxiety in the first half against both Hawaii and Washington State.
“He was very comfortable,” Kiffin said Tuesday during the Pac-12 Conferences coaches teleconference. “He was having fun. He was loose.”
Kessler has completed 33 of 49 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns, with two passes intercepted.
USC plays Utah State on Saturday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
