Adoree’ Jackson opened the season as a three-way player for USC.
The freshman returned kickoffs, played cornerback and also played receiver.
But Jackson moved into the starting lineup at cornerback in the fifth game against Arizona State and had not played receiver since.
Until Thursday night.
Jackson was in during the first series during USC’s 38-30 victory over California and turned a shovel pass into a 14-yard gain.
He had a three-yard reception in the third quarter and, on the next play, scored on an apparent 42-yard touchdown-pass play that was nullified because of a holding penalty.
Jackson has 11 receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown.
