2004 Quinta de Cabriz Reserva Dão
Lately, Portugal -- and not only the Douro region -- has been turning out some terrific dry red wines at intriguing prices. And this Cabriz Reserva from an estate that’s just shy of two decades old, is a stunning example of the values that can be found in Portuguese wines. Bright and juicy, with full ripe flavors, this blend of three indigenous grapes has everything going for it -- including elegance and presence.
At less than $20, it’s a steal. Uncork a bottle and fire up the grill for a butterflied leg of lamb, duck breasts or burgers.
