Huntington Beach police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who is suspected of robbing a grocery store Monday night.
The man entered the Vons at 5922 Edinger Avenue at 10:38 p.m., displayed a handgun and demanded cash, said Huntington Beach Police Department Public Information Officer Jennifer Marlatt.
The cashier then handed him an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man fled from the scene on foot, police said. No vehicle was seen.
Authorities described the suspect as a six-foot white man, in his 50s, with salt-and-pepper-colored hair. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans.
No security photos or video is being released at this time, Marlatt said.
No one was injured during the incident, which happened while the store was open, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Huntington Beach Police Information Hotline at (714) 375-5066.
