Two California chefs will take you on a cooking-and-bicycling tour of Sicily

California chefs Traci Des Jardins of Jardinere restaurant in San Francisco, and Mary Sue Milliken of Border Grill and the TV show “Too Hot Tamales” are featured on an eight-day food and bicycle tour of Sicily, Italy.
During the tour, participants ride 25 to 66 miles a day while exploring the hills, valleys and coast of Sicily. Then comes the food. Cyclists will learn to cook regional dishes, attend wine tastings, learn the history of salt trading, and stop at cultural sites in Palermo, Monreale and Corleone of “Godfather” fame.
Highlights also include stops at the ancient Greek ruins at Selinunte and a swim trip at the Egadi Islands off the west coast of Sicily.
Dates: May 5 to 12
Price: $4,595 per person, based on double occupancy; solo travelers pay $350 more. It includes bikes with GPS units, tour guides, support vehicle, accommodations, all meals plus wine and beer. International airfare to and from Palermo is extra.
