Alpine Skills International, (530) 582-9170, https://www.alpineskills.com/spring_shr.html. The Sierra High Route traverse will take place May 6-11 and cost $990. ASI, based in Truckee, Calif., also offers rock climbing, mountaineering and avalanche safety courses.
Bishop-based Sierra Mountain Guides, (877) 423-2546, sierramtnguides.com/ski/skiTier3/RitterRangeHighTour.html, will offer a Ritter Range High Tour in the Sierra from April 5-9. This tour does not cross the Sierra, but starts in Mammoth, circumnavigates the Minaret Range and ends in June Lake. The cost is $1,340 a person for groups of three or more skiers.
